Five-Week-Old Bride Killed in Jigawa

A 22-year-old bride, Zainab Ibrahim, has been gruesomely murdered in Warware Quarters, Hadejia Local Government Area of Jigawa State, just five weeks after her wedding.

The Jigawa State Police Command’s spokesperson, SP Lawan Shiisu Adam, confirmed the incident in an issued statement.

According to him, the tragic event occurred on March 12, 2024, at approximately 2:20 p.m. when police in Hadejia received a distress call reporting that Zainab Ibrahim had been found unconscious in a pool of blood at her matrimonial home.

Officers arrived at the scene and discovered a deep cut on her throat. She was immediately taken to the General Hospital in Hadejia, where the attending doctor confirmed her death.

Authorities have launched an investigation and intensified efforts to apprehend those responsible for the horrific crime.
