Akwa Ibom: Jonathan To Inaugurate Ikot Ekpene General Hospital

Former President Goodluck Jonathan will on Tuesday, 12 October, inaugurate Phase 1 of the reconstructed Ikot Ekpene General Hospital.

A statement by the Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Comrade Ini Ememobong, indicates that the inauguration, billed to hold at 10 a.m, is a part of activities marking the 34th anniversary of the creation of Akwa Ibom State.

Comrade Ememobong mentioned that former President Jonathan will shortly after inaugurating the hospital facility, flag-off the NMA/Hensek Medical and Surgical Outreach, billed to hold at the Uyo Secretariat of the Nigerian Medical Association.

It would be recalled that Governor Udom Emmanuel led distinguished personalities like Vice President Yemi Osinbajo and Senate President Ahmed Lawan to inaugurate the 21-storey Dakkada Tower and 25km Uyo-Ikot Ekpene Road.

Also, the second phase of Nto Edino/Ekwereazu Road, with two bridges, as well as internal roads in Shelter Afrique have equally been inaugurated, while the foundation laying ceremony of the Dakkada Luxury Estate was performed by the Vice President.

The commissioner explained that phase 1 of the Ikot Ekpene General Hospital comprises the reconstructed maternity, children and female wards, as well as remodelled out-patient and pharmacy departments.
