Man Remanded for raping 12-year-old girl in Lagos

A 25-year-old man, Azeez Isiaka, has been remanded by a Surulere Chief Magistrates’ Court for raping a 12-year-old girl.
The Police Prosecutor, Anthonia Osayande, told the court that the accused committed the offence on Aug. 10 at Ide Village, Ibeju Lekki.
Osayande stated that the accused lured the girl to an uncompleted building and had carnal knowledge of her.
The Magistrate, Mrs Oluyemisi Adelaja, ordered that the suspect be kept in the Ikoyi Prison pending advice of the State Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) on the case.
The accused, who resides at Ibeju Lekki, Lagos, is facing a count charge of unlawful carnal knowledge.
That offense contravenes Section 137 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015.
The case has been adjourned until Sept. 29 for DPP’s advice.
