2023: Ignore sentiments, bargain for your dream society – Envoy begs Nigerians
By Adeleye Kunle
Ahead of the 2023 general elections, the Executive Secretary of International Summit Council for Peace (ISCP) Africa, Ambassador Simeon Uwa has urged Nigerians to lay aside selfish interest and sentiments, but begin to bargain for future of the society they would want to live happily in and bequeath to their children.
He said in order to achieve that, the people involved should borrow a leaf from biblical Daniel principles by rejecting the king’s food.
The Ambassador, who made the call at the Akwa Ibom State Correspondents’ Chapel dinner held in Abuja, also urged the media to embark on a regular and aggressive campaign to enthrone good leaders for better Nigeria.
He, therefore, explained that the role of media for better Nigeria includes moulding opinions, shaping perception of Nigerians, public enlightenment and constructive criticism of present leaders in Nigeria.
He said the media can set an agenda for new Nigeria but warned against inflammatory and inciting reports capable of causing divisions and war instead of promoting struggle for a better nation
