53-year-old man Paraded for defiling mentally challenged minor in Adamawa
The police in Adamawa state have arrested 53-year-old Usman Tela Ahmadu, a resident of Samunaka, Yola North Local Govement Area , for allegedly defiling a mentally challenged minor.Confirming his arrest to newsmen, the spokesperosn of the command, SP Suleiman Nguroje, said the suspect hails from Maiduguri in Borno State and resides in the Area as an internally displaced person (IDP) receiving gifts and undue support/ sympathy from the Locals.
He said the suspect further reveals he sexually assaulted the mentally challenged minor four times and started abusing her in 2021.Nguroje added that the state Commissioner of Police, CP Afolabi Babatola, while expressing worries, called on parents and guardians to live up to expectation in providing necessary protection to their wards to prevent them from accessing the Criminally minded person.
