Air Force Plane Yet To Be Found 24 Hours After Disappearance

The missing Nigerian Air Force (NAF) Alpha-Jet which disappeared during an operation against Boko Haram insurgent in Borno State has still not been found 24-hours later.

Recall that the Alpha-Jet had lost contact with radar at about 5 pm on Wednesday while on an interdiction mission in support of ground troops.

An intelligence source, who is privy to the ongoing investigation on the incident, told PRNigeria that bad weather could be blamed for the missing jetPpppp😂 block lately in the military operation. The trained combat pilots have always responded to distress calls and emergency situations in the protection of troops and the citizens from activities of terrorists in the Northeast.

“We are still investigating and trying to find out what actually happened to the missing Alpha jet. Search and rescue operation has been intensified. But unfortunately, we are yet to see any trace of the jet in the forest areas we have combed, across Borno State.”

TrackNews Online reports that Nigeria’s Chief of Air Staff, Air Marshal Oladayo Amao had on Thursday arrived in Borno State following the disappearance of the jet.

Upon arrival in Borno, Air Marshal Amao was briefed on on-going efforts to locate and recover the NAF Alpha Jet which went missing on Wednesday.
