BREAKING: Gunmen Abducts APC Chairman
Mohammed Oluwatimileyin Taoheed reports,
Unknown gunmen suspected to be herdsmen have abducted the All Progressives Congress (APC) Chairman, Mr. Godwin Aigbogun, in Ugu Ward, Orhionmwon Local Government Area (LGA) of Edo State.
Track News Nigeria learnt that Aigbogun was carted away at Ologbo-nugu Community, on his way from the farm on Monday.
Our Correspondent, Mr. Mohammed Oluwatimileyin Taoheed, gathered that the assailant stormed out of the bush and coerced the victim’s vehicle to stop at gunpoint as they subsequently whisked him away.
As at the time of filling this report, a man put a call to our Bayelsa Office to inform us that the kidnappers have begun negotiations with the victim’s family.
A reliable source who pleaded anonymity said: “They have contacted the family and are demanding N5 million ransom for his release.”
When reached, the Police Department of Edo State confirmed the argument, adding that they are investigating it already.
As seen in a report by SBM, more than $18.3 million in ransom money was paid to Nigerian kidnappers between 2011 and 2020.
