Gas tanker strikes a car in Ogun, Nigeria, and kills six persons.
Ibekimi Oriamaja Reports
Six persons have been confirmed deceased and two more injured as a result of the head-on collision between a gas tanker and a Volvo 626 yesterday.
The deceased were trapped underneath when a truck crashed and continued to spew gas.
Florence Okpe, Superintendent Route Commander and Public Education Officer, claimed Wednesday that “wrongful overtaking resulting to the head-on collision” was what caused the accident, which happened in the Olokuta area of the Idiroko – Ota Road.
It was found that the gas leak made rescue efforts more difficult.
For medical attention, the injured were taken to a hospital.
The fire department had allegedly been contacted.
