Kano state government is investing over N4.6 billion for 1,001 indigenes who had successfully scaled the rigorous screening exercise and were selected for the foreign post-graduate studies in various fields in eight universities in India and Uganda.

Kwankwaso, a two term Governor of Kano, told the beneficiaries to consider the foreign scholarship as rare privilege that must be held tenaciously. He stressed the need for the students to make the government and their parents proud through excellent performance in their academics.

Kwankwaso expressed gratitude to Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf for building on his legacies particularly, the foreign scholarship scheme and the courage to carry on with the Kwankwasiyya Ideology.

“We will continue to pray for you. Your parents will continue to pray for you. Your well-wishers will continue to pray for you. I believe by the time you come back, you will make a difference. Very soon, the remaining scholars will join you as they move to other parts of the world for their post-graduate studies.

“I congratulate all the beneficiaries of this scheme for scaling through the screening exercise which gave you the opportunity to enjoy the special gesture. And on behalf of all of us, I want to thank His Excellency, Engr. Abba Kabir Yusuf, who has decided to continue with this laudable programme,” Kwankwaso added.

Governor Yusuf joined Kwankwaso to appeal to the conscience of the beneficiaries to concentrate on their studies and make Nigeria and Kano proud. He praised Kwankwaso for leaving a solid legacy, stressing his administration’s commitment to sustain and build more on.
