Illegal drug deal: Rivers varsity hands over student to NDLEA
The Management of Ignatius Ajuru University of Education Rumuolumini, Rivers state, says it has suspended a 300 level student of the school identified as Newton Ezegbola Nsiegbe, for allegedly peddling illegal drug on campus.
Vice Chancellor of the university, Prof. Ozo-Mekuri Ndimele disclosed this in a statement in Port Harcourt, the state capital yesterday.
In the statement titled, “suspension from studies for sale of weeds, on campus”, Prof. Ndimele said.
“The Management of Ignatius Ajuru University of Education has suspended Newton Ezegbola Nsiegbe- UE/2018/POL.Sc/B.Sc.Ed4/0813 – Dept. of Political Science. from studies.
“He was apprehended by the University Security Personnel in the hostel with over 1.75 grams of substance suspected to be Indian Hemp which he smokes and sells to his colleagues on campus.
“He has been handed over to the NDLEA for further investigation. Meanwhile, the matter has been referred to the Students Disciplinary Committee to determine his fate as a student of the University.”
He vowed to make the Campus uncomfortable for miscreants,
“There will be no peace for those who want to dent the image of our University. Our God will continue to expose them.” he said.
