By Adeleye Kunle
Kelvin Ugboajah, an All Progressives Congress (APC) senatorial aspirant who ran for Abia State central district in the recently concluded National Assembly primary elections, has been confirmed dead.
Ugboajah died on Monday, July 11, 2022, of an undisclosed illness.
In a statement to journalists on Tuesday, the family of the late Ugboajah of the Ariam Usaka Oboro clan in the State’s Ikwuano Local Government Area officially announced his death.
The Action Democratic Party House of Representatives candidate for Abia State’s Ikwuano/Umuahia federal constituency seat in the 2023 general election, Paul Meregini, expressed sadness over the incident in a condolence message issued to newsmen in Umuahi, the state capital.
Meregini stated that the deceased engaged in inclusive and development-oriented politics, which endeared him to his party members and the general public.
He went on to say that the late Ugboajah was a team player who was only concerned with what was best for the people and was never sentimental about issues affecting development in Abia, the southeast, and Nigeria as a whole.
“Ugboajah played inclusive and development-oriented politics, which endeared him to his party members and the people until his demise,” he said.
“He was a team player who was only concerned with what would benefit the people and was never sentimental about issues pertaining to the development of Abia, the southeast, and Nigeria in general.”
