The development has seen human rights activists, the international community and several others call on the federal government to act on the report of the Lagos State panel.

President Buhari on Thursday during a meeting with US Secretary of State, Antony Blinken, said his administration will look into the report after the Lagos State Government has concluded work on it.

The spokesman to the President, Femi Adesina, quoted his principal saying, “So many state governments are involved, and have given different terms of reference to the probe panels.”

“We at the Federal have to wait for the steps taken by the states, and we have to allow the system to work. We can’t impose ideas on them. Federal Government has to wait for the reaction of the states.”

Meanwhile, a Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN), Femi Falana, has condemned the leakage of the report of the Judicial Panel of Inquiry.

Falana in an interview on Channels Television’s Sunrise Daily, on Wednesday, said the leaked version of the report could jeopardize the thorough work done by the panel.
