Buhari drops Engr Auwalu as CEO-nominee for NMDPRA
President Muhammadu Buhari on Wednesday rescinded his nomination of Engr. Sarki Auwalu as Chief Executive Officer of the Nigerian Midstream and Downstream Petroleum Regulatory Authority (NMDPRA).
He nominated Engr. Farouk Ahmed as Auwalu’s replacement.
The President’s request was contained in a letter dated September 28, 2021 and read by the Senate President, Ahmad Lawan, at plenary.
The President had in a letter dated September 16, 2021, requested the Upper Chamber to confirm Auwalu alongside three others as board members of the NMDPRA.
However, Buhari, in his new request, sought the replacement of Engr. Sarki Auwalu with Engr. Farouk A. Ahmed as Chief Executive Officer.
