President Muhammadu Buhari on Monday joined world leaders in mourning the passing of former United States President, George Bush.
In a statement by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Mr Femi Adesina, President Buhari described Bush as a leader who lived a life of service to his country and humanity.
He extended condolences to the government and people of America, as well as the family of the 41st U.S. President and all political associates of the great leader whose legacies continue to inspire and attract encomiums across the world.
The President believes the passing of Bush is a loss not just to America but the entire world, especially the many people he inspired.
President Buhari extolled the former president’s love for his family and country, saying it has remained legendary as clearly seen in the way his children have taken up leadership roles and were steadily breeding a new generation of great thinkers and leaders.
He prayed for God’s comfort on the mourning nation, the family of the nonagenarian, and a peaceful rest for his soul.
