Ondo Crisis: Again, Tinubu summons Akeredolu’s Deputy, Assembly Speaker

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has yet again invited the Deputy Governor of Ondo State, Lucky Aiyedatiwa and the Speaker of the State House of Assembly, Olamide Oladiji for another meeting in the Presidential Villa in a bid to quell the leadership crisis in the state.

It’s no longer news that the ill-health of the State Governor, Rotimi Akeredolu has caused ripples in the leadership of the state. The Political Impasse is over Akeredolu’s refusal to hand over power to Aiyedatiwa.

TrackNews Media also learned that the Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Princess Oladunni Odu, and the State Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Ade Adetimehin, were also invited to the meeting.

A source privy to details of the meeting disclosed: “Recall that a political solution was put to it in the last meeting with the president but it didn’t work. All the actors that met with the president still went back home and continued to fester the crisis in the state.”

This meeting is also coming barely 24 hours after elder statesman, Edwin Clark, appealed to President Tinubu, to intervene in the matter and adopt the “doctrine of necessity”.
