Osun People Have Spoken, Says Ayu
By Adeleye Kunle
Sen. Iyorcha Ayu, National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), has congratulated the party’s candidate in the Osun governorship election, Sen. Ademola Adeleke, on his victory, saying the people of Osun have spoken.
Ayu said this in a statement issued on Sunday in Abuja, adding that the victory came despite numerous attempts by the State Government to derail the party.
“We had to rely on the state secretariat of the party.” We couldn’t get into the stadium, but we could get into people’s hearts, loyalty, and votes.” The convincing win of 403, 371 over Oyetola’s 375, 027 demonstrates this.
“Today is thus not only a day of double restoration; it is also a day of redemption.” It restores the PDP to power and redeems the people of Osun.
“I congratulate the tenacious Adeleke, the two-time winner.” I congratulate Osun’s good people and residents. “I thank every party stakeholder who supported us through action, prayers, and hope,” he said.
“You have remained loyal to the PDP,” Ayu added. You refused to be frightened. You refused to be bribed with food and 30 silver coins. You said no to thuggery and vote tampering. You did an excellent job.”
He claimed that the Osun election was a referendum that proved Nigerians wanted the PDP back.
“Indeed, the PDP is on its way,” he said.
He praised the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) and security agencies for remaining neutral and ensuring that votes were counted.
“The task at hand now is to move from opposition to governance.” This is what we will do.
“With Osun completed, the next villa!” “We urge all PDP members and Nigerians to board the PDP train.” Don’t fall behind. Our next stop will be at Aso Villa.
“With the PDP, Nigeria will rise again.” She is, indeed, on the rise. The people of Osun have spoken. “On February 25, 2023, the rest of Nigeria will speak with one voice,” he said.
Ayu praised the performance of the PDP National Campaign Council for the Osun governorship election, led by Gov. Duoye Diri.
He also expressed gratitude to the party’s Vice Presidential candidate, Gov. Ifeanyi Okowa, for his tireless efforts.
“The PDP is proud of you all.
“You were instrumental in restoring the PDP to power after a 12-year absence.” “You have given Osun hope again,” he said.
