‘Our Children Are Bandits, Kidnappers,’ Sultan Asks Fulani Leaders, ‘How Do We Resolve Them?’

Muhammad Sa’ad Abubakar III, Sultan of Sokoto, has admitted that some Fulani children are involved in banditry and kidnapping across the country.
The renowned monarch, who also serves as President-General of the Nigeria Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs (NSCIA), expressed concern about the situation, stating that while Fulanis are known to be peaceful people, some cattle breeders among them have chosen to engage in criminality.
According to Track News, Abubakar expressed his desire to resolve the situation while speaking at the inauguration of the new leadership of the Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association of Nigeria (MACBAN) in Abuja on Sunday.

While wondering why some Fulani children had suddenly turned to banditry and kidnapping, Abubakar charged the new MACBAN executives with treating the situation as urgent and urging them to assist the Federal Government in combating insecurity in the country.

While stating that the threat to divide the country is due to certain things Nigerians are not doing correctly, the NSCIA president urged the organization to investigate the matter thoroughly.

“We would not have gotten to where we are now if we had known the history of the Fulani movement in various parts of the world,” the Sultan said.

“Everyone knows Fulani moves from point A to point B. They travel everywhere and intermarry. And we cherish peace.

“But how did we get to this point?” “We have children who are Fulani, but not all of them are involved in banditry and kidnapping.” What occurred?

“When we meet with the executives, we’ll talk about how to deal with this.” How do we resolve them because it is past time?

“Because we cannot sit down and divide this country into fractions simply because of certain things we are not doing correctly.”

According to Naija News, the Governor of Yobe State, Mai Mala Buni, also attended the inauguration of the new MACBAN leadership.
