Police commission okays suspension of killer-officer
The Police Service Commission (PSC) on Thursday approved the suspension of Drambi Vandi, an Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP), with service number AP/no 134901.
He allegedly shot and killed a lawyer, Mrs Bolanle Raheem, on Christmas day in the Ajah area of Lagos State.
The suspension is with immediate effect.
PSC also directed that the final investigation into the matter be concluded to enable the Commission to take further action.
The Commission, in a letter to the Inspector General of Police, signed by the Acting Chairman, Justice Clara Bata Ogunbiyi (rtd), stated that the Commission has carefully examined the facts of the case.
It said after considering the IGP’s observations and recommendation with respect to allegations against the officer, the commission granted approval for the suspension of the officer from duty with immediate effect.
