Turnah to Inaugurate post flood management committee

Sequel to the Seven(7) million naira pledge made by George Turnah to support flood victims and plan a robust post-flood recovery strategy across communities in Ogbia Ward 9, Ogbia Local Government Area, Bayelsa State, a 20-member committee has been set up to manage the intervention support to flood victims of the ward.

In a statement made by Robert Enaikato the special assistant to George Turnah, The Committee is to immediately profile victims of the flood in all Communities of Ogbia Ward 9 (Kolo Ward) and workout modalities for handling the direct cash transfer to victims intervention initiative of the George Turnah Foundation. To this end, the sum of N2,000,000.00 (Two million naira) only has been donated and made available by George Turnah, MON for this purpose.

As part of the terms of reference set out for the working arrangement of the committee, the Committee is to also carry out a comprehensive assessment of the impact of the flood on the Communities and people of the Ward and advise on a clear workable action plan/road map to guide the post-flood recovery process for which the George Turnah Foundation will commit a total sum of N5,000,000.00 (Five million naira) only as recovery funds for direct intervention in the areas of medicals, farming, and business recovery.

The Committee is to further profile and engage illustrious sons and daughters of Ogbia Ward 9 (Kolo Ward) irrespective of Party linings and affiliations to support/contribute to the post-flood recovery process.

On behalf of George Turnah MON, the Committee is to profile flood victims from across the Kingdom of Ogbia who are pro-George Turnah for direct intervention.

The committee set by the Honourable Alabh George Turnah (MON) has been announced to be inaugurated on Friday, 4th November 2022 at the 4+4 prosperity movement secretariat in Yenagoa by 2 pm prompt.

Members of the Committee and guests have been requested to be seated at least, 30 minutes before the scheduled time.

Chief Saturday Ederi is to serve as Chairman of the committee, Chief David Happiness as Deputy Chairman, Nathaniel Adogu as Secretary, and Afebo James as Treasurer.
