2023 Elections: For The First Time, There Was No Massive Complaint Of Rigging -Tanko Yakasai Claims
It is no longer news that the 2023 general elections has come and gone with the Presidential candidate of the All Progressive Congress, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu declared as the winner of February 25th.
It would be recalled that Mr Tinubu polled over eight million votes to defeat Atiku Abubakar of the Peoples Democratic Party and Peter Obi of the Labour.
It would also be recalled that there are several controversies that surrounds the outcome of the election. It would also be recalled that Mr Peter Obi and Atiku Abubakar of are currently challenging the victory of Asiwaju Tinubu in the polls.
However, First Republic politician, foundation member of the Arewa Consultative Forum, as well as , Kano State-born elder statesman, Alhaji Tanko Yakasai, has claimed that there is no complaint of rigging or manipulation of results.
Speaking during an exclusive interview with Tribune paper, Yakasai said the election was credible.
For the first time, there was no massive complaint of rigging. As for the election regarding the governors, state assembly members, by large and throughout the country, there was not much accusation of rigging in the conduct of this election.” Tribune paper quoted Yakasai as saying.
