APC organization applauds Lalong’s selection as campaign director.
Ibekimi Oriamaja Reports
The selection of Governor Simon Lalong as Director-General for the Tinubu/Shettima 2023 Campaign Council has been applauded by APC supporters in Plateau State.
The APC Strategic Monitoring Team (APC-SMT) claimed responsibility for the statement that the appointment is a square peg in a round hole.
The text was presented at a press conference yesterday at the Nigeria Union of Journalists office in Jos by the group’s coordinator, Golepji Wambutda, and secretary, Bukhari Auwal. They said, “For most of us, a Presidential Campaign Director-General is not just a mere appointment in the campaign council, rather it is in the heartbeat of the entire transition process and political negotiations that the foundation of a new Government is set after winning an election.
The other leg of the tripod needed to support the long-desired inclusiveness, fairness, and equity is provided by Lalong’s nomination as the Director-General of the Tinubu-Shettima Presidential Campaign Council.
“The campaign director general will advocate the necessary balance anticipated of a varied entity like Nigeria, including the issues of faith, as a very important part of the transition process.
Should he suffer the consequences of his decision to join the DG Campaign? No! In no way! Because it is illogical to leave the entire field empty, without a mark, or without making an attempt to fix the anomaly.
The organization maintains that it will offer Lalong all the assistance required to guarantee the party victory in 2023.
