Atiku Fires Tinubu: After Your Embarrassing Performance At Chatham House

Atiku Abubakar, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) presidential candidate, has slammed his All Progressives Congress (APC) counterpart, Bola Tinubu, for his performance at the Chatham House in London.
According to Track News, Tinubu spoke to the Chatham House audience on Monday about his plans for the country if elected President in 2023.The former Governor of Lagos State also responded to questions posed by members of his campaign team.Atiku said Tinubu’s performance at the event was embarrassing and disgraceful in a statement titled “2023: A Comedian Visits Chatham House” and signed by his media aide, Phrank Shaibu, on Tuesday. The PDP Presidential candidate claimed that Tinubu is weak and tired and should be allowed to rest, adding that Tinubu cannot defend his manifesto.Atiku stated that the Chatham House event would have provided Tinubu with an opportunity to redeem himself after avoiding the town hall hosted by Arise Television and other media outlets. He, on the other hand, claimed that the APC candidate fell short of Nigerians’ expectations and also failed to sell himself to voters at the public event.”The disgraceful campaign of APC candidate, Bola Tinubu, reached its nadir at Chatham House in London, where he was expected to sell himself,” the statement reads. Six months after becoming the party’s candidate, the self-styled Lagos godfather has avoided any public engagement with other candidates because his intelligence pales in comparison to theirs.”After about 15 minutes of reading his prepared speech, it was time for the question and answer session.” Clearly unable to respond to simple questions, he claimed his style is to delegate and then decided to rely on members of his campaign to answer them for him.”It is perplexing that Tinubu was unable to defend his manifesto, which he personally launched amid great fanfare.” His action was akin to a final-year student summoning his classmates to assist him in defending his project. Absolutely disgraceful.”Rather than revealing how he would deal with insecurity, Tinubu asked Kaduna Governor Nasir el-Rufai to answer the question on his behalf, noting that, for clarity, the Kaduna governor recorded 1,192 civilian killings alone in 2021, nearly equaling that of war-torn Syria, and thus not qualified to speak on the issue.””This is also a governor who admitted to paying insurgent killers to stop killing his people.” He rushed his children out of school last year due to insecurity, but he left the children of the masses to their fate.”Kaduna state was cut off completely earlier this year, becoming inaccessible by air, train, or road.” In August, he wrote to President Buhari, stating that the election might not take place in some parts of the state due to terrorist activity. Yet he (Nasir el-Rufai) was Tinubu’s choice to address security issues, what a joke.”Tinubu was also unable to respond to questions about healthcare or the economy, despite claiming to have developed Lagos.” He instead asked the Speaker, Femi Gbajabiamila, Betty Edu, and Wale Edun to do so on his behalf.”It’s no surprise he’s not brave enough to attend debates.” He is unable to hold his own. It is ironic that a man who constantly says Emi lo kan (it is my turn) suddenly discovers that it is not his turn when it comes time to answer serious questions.”When Tinubu was asked specifically about his profile and background, he began his story at Chicago University, wondering why the former Lagos governor couldn’t mention the primary and secondary schools he attended and why he purposefully left them out of his Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) form CF001.””To put it bluntly, Bola Tinubu’s entire candidacy is based on a grand scam.” He’s like a puppet that appears to be alive but is actually controlled by strings from a team backstage.”If Tinubu is elected president, his presidency will be run by a cabal pulling the strings from behind the scenes.” This is about dereliction of duty, not effective delegation. The warning signs are visible to Nigerians.”The country is arguably facing its worst crisis since the civil war.” According to the CBN, unemployment is at 33%, at least 133 million Nigerians live in abject poverty, the exchange rate, even on the official market, is at an all-time low, debt is at an all-time high, and oil revenue has dried up. Nigeria cannot afford to have another failed presidency.”It is only in Africa that people who are unfit for office due to illness insist on holding them, even at the expense of the economy’s and citizens’ well-being.” This country deserves a very healthy individual. The president’s office is not for the sick.”Tinubu has done his best, but he is now weak and tired, and he should be allowed to go home and rest, while I urge the electorate to vote for Atiku Abubakar in next year’s election, as the former vice president is the only candidate who has what it takes to turn around Nigeria’s fortunes.”
