BAYELSA 2023: With Gov Diri Bayelsa is safe – Bara

YENAGOA_____AS the governorship election campaign in Bayelsa State gathers momentum ahead of November 11th 2023 polls in the state , the Director General Ward-2-Ward for Diri/ Law Hon. Ogidi Ben Bara has expressed optimism that with Governor Douye Diri re-election there will be security of lives and property in the state.

In a statement, while appraising the security situation of the state during the past administration Ogidi said, “Every Bayelsan is a witness of the peace we are enjoying in the state after Diri took over the reins of power.”

He said: “It is important to state that as we draw close to the governorship in the state youth needs to conduct themselves maturely and avoid being used by desperate power seeks who does not mean well for the state.

“I also want Bayelsans to recall and remember the past, on how they were oppressed and denied of their fundamental human rights of freedom of movement, speech, association, and protection of lives and property under the past administration in the state.

“I urge Bayelsans to vote Governor Douye Diri because with him Bayelsa is in safe hands, and every Bayelsan is a witness of the peace we are enjoying in the state after he took over the reins of power.

“The youth are meaningfully engaged at the moment and cultism that was a menace has become a thing of the past. The roads that were never thought will be possible linking the three senatorial zones of the state some has been constructed and completed, there is easy access by all Bayelsans to different parts of the state. This giant feat by Governor Diri has further increased the economic activities in the state and influx of investors.

“In terms of education, the governor has been able to reposition it, with massive infrastructural development in this sector. On economic empowerment, Bayelsans are now better of, and also human capital development is great.

“The developmental stride he has been able to achieve so far is enormous, and I see him doing greater than what he has achieved.”

He also urged Bayelsans to come out en mass to vote the candidate of their choice without fear of intimidation, and also urged the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, to conduct free and fair election acceptable to all come November 11th 2023.
