Urges Those interested in Writing Petitions To Give Peace A Chance

As moves to constitute the substantive board of the NDDC commences in earnest, the Bayelsa State Coordinator of the APC National Youth Council (NYC), Dist. Comr. Robert Igali has called on leaders of the party at all levels to work together and ensure that only those committed to the party and understand what members of the party are going through in the state, are giving opportunity to head the board and management of the NDDC.

Comr. Igali Robert who made this known in a chat with news men in Port Harcourt, disclosed that some persons from the state who benefited from the sweat of faithful party members were not card carrying neither registered members of the party.

He stated that some of these persons who rose to power through the collective efforts of the dogged, dye -in -the wool, steadfast, loyal and committed members of the party, did not care or bother about the welfare and well-being of party members because they had no link, connection or anything to do with the party in the state before assuming their official responsibility.

Igali also called on all those in the party and outside writing petitions, fanning the embers of disunity and mistrust to give peace a chance.

Noting that writing of petitions are not the panacea to the issues we are all contending with. Rather, it will create room for the opposition to catch in and impose their wishes and desire on us, which will further exacarbate the fragile and unpleasant situation we find ourselves.what we certainly needs in our party are basically , empowerment,Job creation for our teeming youths ,capacity building and training of our young people that are the strength and pillars of the great party .

His words, ” very soon the NDDC board would be constituted. I am using this medium to call on our leaders from the state and those from the South-South that will play one role or the other to come together and ensure that only loyal and committed party members are giving the privilege to serve the state and Niger Delta region in any capacity.

” We have watched with dismay for sometime now, were non party members are nominated from the state and when they assume office, no one; especially loyal and committed members of the party are unable to access them. What happens is that the committed members of the party, who worked very hard and hoping that the works of their hands would be rewarded by leaders of the party are left to wallow in self pity and denials.

” And when this happens, your guess is as good as mine. Any little offer from the opposition party they may quickly accept and a
Leave the party, because you can’t blame them, they have family, social and community responsibilities to take care of.

” So, It is important that the President and our leaders bear this in mind; now that they are in the process of constituting the board. They should look out for loyal and committed members of the party in the state. For instance, for a while now; those that have headed the board and even the Presidential Amnesty Office from the state are not members of the party. Name them: is it Prof. Nelson Brambaifa or Prof. Kemebradikumo Daniel Pondei? what about the Presidential Amnesty Office – Retired Brig. Gen. Paul Boroh. Find out for yourself, the records are there. They never contributed in anyway towards the growth and development of the party in the state, i stand to be corrected.

” And so, this is a wake up call to the leaders of the party in the State and our leaders in Aso Rock Villa. This is the time to strengthen the party ahead of the next round of elections, from the State to National Assembly elections”.
We realize that ,we are opposition in the state .

Comr. Robert Igali stressed that people writing petitions from all corners of the state are not in any way helping the party to build consensus.

Finally , We are urging them to stop the series of petition writings and find a common ground with leaders of the party. We equally urge the leaders to give them a listening hear, look at their complains and grievances and find ways and means of amicably resolving them for the sake of the unity, progress and collective interest of the party in the state”.
