Heavy security at Supreme Court Amidst judgements on Kano, Plateau, 5 other gov’ship polls
Security has been beefed around the Supreme Court of Nigeria complex in Abuja ahead of the for judgment in the Kano State governorship election appeal.
The Supreme Court will also deliver judgment in Lagos, Zamfara, Plateau, Ebonyi, Bauchi and Cross River governorship elections.
TrackNews Media reports that court sitting will begin by 9am today, January 12, 2024.
The most anticipated judgments are Kano and Plateau appeals as the lower courts had sacked the incumbent governors.
As early as 7.15a.m on Friday heavy security had been built around the area in a bid to ensure a hitch-free proceedings.
It was also observed that security operatives from regular and plain-clothed police units have been deployed to the Supreme Court’s main entrance to curb unauthorised movements of human and vehicles into the complex premises.
