The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Oyo State, on Monday, vowed to unseat the current governor of the state, Seyi Makinde in 2023.
The party also alleged that the ruling Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the state has been engaging in violent, deceitful and propaganda-filled campaigns.
The APC made the allegations during the inauguration of 3,333 members governorship campaign council in the state in Ibadan.
At the event were the gubernatorial candidate of the party in 2023, Senator Teslim Kolawole Folarin, Chairman of the party, Isaac Omodewu and other members of the party.
Director General of the Campaign Council, Dr Isiaka Kolawole, during the inauguration held at the party’s office in Oke Ado, insisted that the APC will unseat Makinde because of what he alleged is Makinde’s poor performance.
Kolawole while addressing the gathering noted that Folarin as Oyo governor in 2023 would be the best thing to happen to the state.
He said the campaign council would work with Senator Olufemi Lanlehin-led reconciliation committee.
He added that this is to achieve total reconciliation and harmonisation of all members of the party.
Kolawole while speaking on what should be expected during the campaign insisted that the party would run an issue-based campaign
