PDP Disqualifies Wale Oladipo, Olafeso Eddy And Muo-Aroh
The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Screening Sub-Committee has disqualified three aspirants from contesting for positions in the National Working Committee.
Our correspondent at wadata house reports that the PDP has fixed October 30 and 31 for its national convention to hold at the Eagles square, Abuja.
Those disqualified were: Prof. Wale Oladipo (Osun) who wanted to contest for the position of Deputy National Chairman South, Okey Muo-Aroh (Anambra) who was an aspirant for the position of National Secretary, and Dr Olafeso Eddy (Ondo) for National Publicity Secretary.
The trio disqualification was announced by the Chairman of the National Convention Organising Committee, Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri of Adamawa State.
He stated this during the official Media Launch of the 2021 National Convention Logo and Promotional Materials, at the PDP National Secretariat, Abuja, on Thursday.
Giving reasons for their disqualification, Governor Fintiri accused the trio of dragging the opposition party to court to halt the national convention.
He stated that Oladipo, Eddy and Muo-Aroh failed to exhaust the internal conflicts resolution mechanism as provided for in the PDP Constitution.
According to Fintiri, 27 other aspirants were cleared to contest at the convention while one withdrew from the race.
Meanwhile, the Governors of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) have said all is on course for a successful national convention of the party.
Chairman of the PDP Governors’ Forum, Aminu Tambuwal of Sokoto State gave the assurance during a press briefing at the end of a crucial meeting by the governors held on Wednesday.
He said the party is ready for its October 30/31 convention at the Eagles Square as well as putting all structures in place for a successful 2023 election outing.
