PDP’s Kolawole alleges vote buying in Ekiti
The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate in the ongoing governorship election in Ekiti, Otunba Bisi Kolawole has alleged vote buying at the state capital, Ado-Ekiti.
But he was quick to say that his party was not involved in vote buying deal.
He said this in his home town Efon Alaye following allegation of inducement of voters by the political party.
The Nation also saw some voters agitated over inability to benefit from the largesse.
These voters, who came from another polling unit in Ward 8, met Kolawole.
Shortly after, the voters were seen compiling their names on a sheet of paper.
But Kolawole discountenance the allegation saying it was possible that other political parties were doing that.
However, he said he had heard reports that vote buying happened in the state capital, Ado-Ekiti.
He said: “We are not in government. We don’t have such money for vote buying.
“We heard there was vote buying in Ado-Ekiti but not PDP.
“We have campaigned and have left Ekiti people with their conscience to vote according to their conscience.
“We have worked. Yes, we know that the situation is unbearable in Ekiti.”
He added that with the failing infrastructure in Ekiti, it was enough for the people to vote in PDP.
Pointing at a failing road, Kolawole said: “Look at the deplorable roads for example at the headquarters of a local government area, can you imagine this kind of thing?”
“This is enough reason for voters to revolt against the ruling party and vote for the opposition party.
“So, we are very sure that the people will vote enmasse for PDP and at the end of the day, Bisi Kolawole will emerge the next governor of Ekiti, by the grace of God.”
