Presidential Election in 2023 Will Not Be The Most Important – Peller

Shina Peller, the member representing Oyo State’s Iseyin/Itesiwaju/Kajola/Iwajowa federal constituency in the House of Representatives, has claimed that Nigerians place too much importance on the office of the President.
Peller stated in a statement on Saturday that the presidential election is not the most important election for the general election in 2023.

He told Nigerians to stop worrying about who will succeed President Muhammadu Buhari in 2023 because that is just one of many political offices and one person cannot make any meaningful change.

According to the lawmaker, what Nigerians should be interested in is how to create a system that works so that the person in power must key into it.

He did, however, express confidence that the country’s youths will be able to elect the next president in 2023 if they put their population to good use.

“I believe that the presidential election is not the most important in Nigeria,” Peller said. The most important thing right now is to create a system that works for everyone.

“A single man cannot create a system.” The president is only one part of the system and cannot address critical issues affecting the country on his own.”

It is too soon to predict the winner.
The lawmaker also stated that it is too early to predict who will win the presidential election in 2023. He did, however, say that things will be clearer by January 2023.

“It is too early for anyone to predict that confidently, by January 1, 2023, people would know who has the best chances,” he said. The president is only one person in the system; he cannot veto critical issues affecting the entire country.”
