Senator Adams Oshiomhole Made His Name From Being foreign-made fabrics-Chris Kehinde Nwandu

The Publisher of CKN News, Chris Kehinde Nwandu, has revealed the need for the Nigerian Government to tackle the influx of foreign-made fabrics; as he revealed that the former Chairman of the National Working Committee (NWC) of the All Progressive Congress (APC) and Senator representing Edo State at the National Assembly, Senator Adams Oshiomhole, made his name from being a textile worker.

Christ Kehinde Nwandu had said, “But you also ask yourself, apart of that of adire, how many textile industries do we have in Nigeria? Those days there used to be Asaba textile, there used to be Kaduna, I think Kaduna textile; Oshiomhole made his name from being a textile, I mean Adams Oshiomhole made his name from being a textile worker, he was a textile, he was the President of a textile union in Kaduna textile. So, I totally agree, but good enough, also, another thing is projecting this product. If you look at some of our people, they are already doing that, if you look at somebody like, if you look at someone like Okonjo-Iweala, I am sure you will be seeing her, ankara, her own is ankara, adire, anywhere you see her.”

Chris Nwadu, who spoke during an interview on Journalists’ Hangout, a TVC Television programme, maintained that the reason why foreign-made fabrics are being imported into the country is because the Nigerian Government has not taken steps to rehabilitate some of the textile industries in the country.

He mentioned that there used to be Asaba textile industry, Kaduna textile industry, and others. He added that rehabilitating the industries and urging Nigerians to buy locally produced textiles would tackle influx of foreign-made textiles.…
