APC chieftain raises alarm, says Tinubu, Ganduje planning to embarrass Amaechi in Rivers state

The dissolution of the All Progressives Congress (APC) executives in Rivers has sparked a storm of condemnation, with Chief Eze Chukwuemeka Eze, a prominent party chieftain in the state, vehemently opposing the move.

In a recent statement, Eze strongly criticized the dissolution, alleging that it was a deliberate attempt to discredit and undermine the former Rivers governor, Chibuike Amaechi.

He claimed that the orchestration behind the dissolution involved President Bola Tinubu and the APC National Chairman, Abdullahi Ganduje, purportedly intending to hand over the state chapter to the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike.

According to him, the move would sideline Amaechi and his loyalists within the party.

Eze warned about the potential repercussions of granting control to Wike, whom he labelled a “political chameleon.”

He further criticized recent appointments made by Tinubu’s government, arguing that they appeared to favour Wike, who had previously contested fiercely against Rivers APC.

Highlighting the sensitivity of the matter, Eze emphasized the need for Ganduje and the party’s national leadership to consider the implications of their actions, especially given that the dissolution of the state executive committee is currently pending before a court.
