Stop Dragging Ohanaeze Ndigbo into Your Frustration — Igbo Group Warns Reps Dep. Speaker, Kalu
The Progressive Ndigbo Movement (PNM) has warned Hon. Benjamin Kalu, Deputy Speaker, House of Representatives, to stop dragging Ohanaeze Ndigbo, the apex Igbo socio-cultural organisation, into his frustration.
The group expressed concern that Kalu has been using faceless groups to pollute Ohanaeze Ndigbo in his attempt to divide the South East region for his selfish political ambition.
The PNM President, Dr. Chukwuemeka Okafor, and Secretary, Engr. Chibuzo Ukoh, in a statement said that Kalu’s latest desperate moves clearly explained how much he had become unpopular and was simply trying to deflect attention from his own growing unpopularity within the Igbo nation and beyond.
The group also said that Kalu had failed to live up to the demand of leadership and his roles at the House of Representatives had been nothing short of disaster.
The PNM also reminded Kalu that Ohanaeze Ndi Igbo is a revered institution that has been around for a while and is a symbol of the Igbo people’s unity and identity.
The group urged Kalu to focus on his own job and to stop his attacks on other Igbo leaders, adding that his attempts to manipulate and divide South East youths with faceless groups would not succeed.
The PNM also called on the Igbo people to reject Kalu’s attempt to hit up the political environment in the region, especially at a time like this when stakeholders in the region are working effortlessly to restore peace.
