We Were Told That Some Foreign Lawyers Have Been Flown In To Stop Tinubu’s Inauguration- Keyamo
Festus Keyamo, the Minister of State, Labour and Employment, has attracted attention on social media after sharing some information he had read regarding the inauguration of the President-elect, Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
In a post on his verified Twitter handle, Keyamo stated that he learned that a lawyer is giving opposition members assurance that the inauguration can be stopped before May 29th. He also claimed that some foreign lawyers have been flown into the country to stop the inauguration. Keyamo further mentioned that the stories have been causing excitement among opposition members.
Tinubu was declared the winner of the February 25th presidential election, but the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate, Atiku Abubakar, and the Labour Party candidate, Peter Obi, rejected the result, alleging that it was rigged in favour of Tinubu. They have both filed petitions before the tribunal to challenge the result. Tinubu is expected to be sworn in on May 29th unless there is a judicial intervention. However, there have been calls from some quarters for the inauguration to be suspended until the tribunal delivers a verdict on the case.
In response to the stories he had read, Keyamo expressed his disappointment that some supposedly learned individuals are taking advantage of opposition members who believe that the inauguration can be stopped. He lamented that illiteracy is a disease and that it is sad that unscrupulous characters are exploiting the poor fellows.
