Wike tells Atiku that Rivers will not work for him.

Rivers Governor Nyesom Wike has stated that he will only run for the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governorship, National Assembly, and House of Assembly candidates in 2023.

Wike spoke at a state banquet on Friday night in honor of the G5 Governors, who came to show support for the Rivers 2023 campaign flag-off on Saturday.

The G5 Governors, Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi (Enugu), Seyi Makinde (Oyo), Okezie Ikpeazu (Abia), and Samuel Ortom (Benue), as well as other PDP chieftains, attended the banquet.

Rivers, according to the Governor, will no longer work for anyone who refuses to embrace justice, fairness, and equity.

Wike stated that he was only committed to working for the PDP, Rivers State chapter, and that all of his candidates in the state would win.

After praising Buhari for releasing money owed to some Niger Delta states, including Rivers, Akwa Ibom, Delta, and Bayelsa, the Governor said he received messages saying he should not have praised the President.

He demanded accountability from the states that received the funds, just as he chastised a Delta Senatorial Candidate and Businessman, Ned Nwoko, for demanding accountability from him for what he did with the funds.

He listed the projects he completed with the funds and asked Nwoko to ask his principal in Delta to account for his own.

“I am in support of the PDP in Rivers State until you meet us,” he said. I will fight hard for them to win the governorship, the Senate, the House of Representatives, and the Assembly.

“Here, I will not support anyone who opposes Rivers State.” I will not vote for anyone who does not believe in equity, fairness, and justice. Come and say you believe in equity and justice if you want Rivers State to support you.

“This state has given up for the party, and you must give up for Rivers State.” Rivers will no longer sacrifice for you if you do not sacrifice for him. Rivers State will not die for anyone who refuses to die for us.

“Let the rest of the world and Nigeria hear. This state will no longer make sacrifices for anyone. You must make sacrifices in order for this state to exist. We’ve been through enough. We have worked for this party and will continue to do so, regardless of what others say. Death will strike when it strikes.

“However, you have conspired to believe that Rivers State will be no state, and I tell you, no way.” You, like everyone else here, did not win the election and now want to imprison the governor of Benue. You did not win the election and now want to imprison Enugu’s governor. You did not win the election and now want to imprison Oyo’s governor. You will not be permitted by God.

“Because they stand for the truth and say they will support Wike, they will all fall.” They’re not going anywhere. They will never be governors again. Only Seyi will remain governor. You cannot threaten him because he has worked for Oyo State.

“What did we do? According to our party’s constitution, the president and chairman should meet here. But you say no, you’ll take everything, and we say no, we won’t let that happen. History will back us up when we say the truth and nothing but the truth.

“I thanked President Buhari, and people were messaging me, asking why I said that. But why won’t I say that? I am not a Buhari supporter. The majority of you go to the villa at night. But I didn’t go. The truth is that Buhari released funds that had not been paid to us since 1999.

“The funds were distributed to several Niger Delta states.” Allow each state to come and account for their money. I, as Governor of Rivers, can account for it.

“There is one man who married 20 wives and because we say no, you can’t extort $400 million from the United States, one man.” He stated that he worked. Which ones are effective? But we say we’re not going to let him take the money.

“He advised me to tell Rivers what I did with the money. Law school is now a part of what I did with the money. Part of what I did with the money yesterday is the ninth and tenth flyovers. Allow him to also inform his boss of what he did with the money.”
