I Will Represent Nigeria With Pride – Sweden Based Defender Celebrates Nigeria U20 Call Up For U20 AFCON

Following the official confirmation of his invitation to the Nigeria U20 team ahead of the U20 Africa Cup of Nations, Trelleborgs record signing Abel Ogwuche has voiced out his mission in the team.

Abel is among the players based abroad called up by coach Ladan Bosso and will report to the camp of the team in the second week of January to prepare for the tournament which runs between 19 February and 11 March in Egypt.

Nigeria has been drawn in Group A along with host country Egypt, Mozambique and Senegal and Ogwuche said he looks forward to the tournament with pride of putting on the colours of the Nigeria U20 team known as Flying Eagles.

“It is with pride that I will represent Nigeria in the tournament. It shows that I did something good and I hope that me and my teammates can make the country feel proud of our achievements. It is a dream that every child in the country has, to represent Nigeria at the national team level and not everyone has been lucky enough to have that dream come true”, he told the official website of the club.

It has been a remarkable year for the Tripple 44 Academy of Ibadan graduate who was made the club’s first signing after distinguishing himself during a loan spell at the club. So good that he was made their record signing.

He made a total of 8 appearances. Starting three matches and bagging a total of three man of the match awards from the three starts. As a a matter of fact the club didn’t lose a single game which will he played.
