Mikael Silvestre names William Saliba as the Gunners player that will stand out in the World Cup
Former Arsenal centre-back, Mikael Silvestre has named defender, William Saliba as the Gunners player that will stand out in the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar.
Saliba was included in France’s 26-man squad for the World Cup and is expected to partner Manchester United’s Raphael Varane at the heart of their team’s defense.
The 21-year-old has been impressive for Arsenal so far this season.
Asked to name the Arsenal player he feels will stand out at the World Cup, Silvestre told Bettingexpert: “Maybe Saliba because now Kimpembe is out.
“I think he has a real chance to start with Varane. That would be the continuity of his season.
“I think he could be a big surprise and continue at the level he has been showing in the Premier League.”
Silvestre played for Arsenal between 2008 and 2010
