Qatar 2022: England World Cup star is told he will not be able to play for Ten Hag’s Man United again

Former Chelsea defender William Gallas believes Harry Maguire will never play for Manchester United again.

According to him, the club is “too big” for the Red Devils’ captain, which is why the former Leicester City man has struggled at the Theatre of Dreams.

Maguire has lost his starting spot for Manchester United, with manager Erik ten Hag preferring new signings Lisandro Martinez and Raphael Varane to the England defender.

Meanwhile, Maguire has only made four Premier League appearances this season.

Gallas, who previously played for Arsenal and Chelsea, believes Maguire lacks the speed and agility required of defenders.

This was stated by the Frenchman in response to rumors linking the England center-back to a possible move to Tottenham.

“Manchester United is too big for Maguire,” he said in an interview with Genting Casino.

“That’s why he hasn’t appeared there. I doubt Tottenham will want him at the back.

“They need defenders but Maguire would not be good for them. He is nearly 30 years old and does not move as quickly as others. The older he gets, the slower he gets.”
