Qatar 2022: You crossed the line – Ian Wright slams Argentina’s goalkeeper after World Cup win
Former Arsenal forward, Ian Wright has slammed Aston Villa goalkeeper Emiliano Martinez over his ‘s***housery’ in the World Cup final.
According to him, the Argentina goalkeeper took his penalty shootout antics too far during their shootout victory over France on Sunday.
Martinez applied every trick to help the South Americans win the World Cup and try to unsettle the France players.
But Wright noted that the former Arsenal goalkeeper ‘crossed the line’.
Speaking on his Ringer FC podcast – admits he was disappointed by Martinez’s conduct and says he ‘crossed the line’.
“I look at Emi Martinez, remember the s***housery with Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.
“I was thinking this guy is going to go to another level of s***housery if this final goes to penalties. And he did.
“I like Emi but what he did in the penalty shootout crossed the line, in respect of sportsmanship. He crossed the line.”
