Relegated Dakkada debunk owing players
Dakkada have debunked claim by a section of the media that the team failed to pay its players during the 2022-23 Nigeria Premier Football League season.
The Uyo-based team said the claim is malicious and baseless to tarnish the image of the immediate past governor of Akwa Ibom State, Udom Emmanuel.
According to a statement by the club which was made available to DAILY POST, all the players’ salaries were paid, excluding May which was delayed because of the transition of government in the state.
“Excluding May 2023, the salaries of our players and officials have completely been paid from start to finish of the 2022/2023 Nigeria Premier Football League,” the statements reads.
“The May salary was delayed because of the transition of government in the state.”
Dakkada were relegated from the NPFL at the end of the 2022/23 season
