Remo Stars defender, Anaemena sad missing out on NPL title
Remo Stars defender, Ifeanyi Anaemena has revealed that his expectations was to win the 2022-23 Nigeria Premier League.
Anaemena believes that the Sky Blues Stars impressive performance in the NPL this season needed to be crowned with a title.
He, however, considered that the CAF Champions League qualification was a consolidation for the team’s effort.
“Actually I expected something more because I won the NPL Super Six in 2019 with Enyimba,” he told Track news in Lagos.
“My target was to lift a trophy this season but unfortunately a CAF Champions League qualification is a consolidation for the team’s efforts.
“We hope to make a good account of ourselves when the continental football begins next season.”
Remo Stars and reigning NPL champions Enyimba will compete in the CAF Champions League next season
