Transfer: Southampton, Everton, Palace battle for red-hot Akpom
Premier League clubs, Southampton, Everton and Crystal Palace are reportedly considering a January swoop for Chuba Akpom.
Akpom has caught the eye this season following his stellar displays for Sky Bet Championship club, Middlesbrough.
The Nigerian-born forward has scored 13 goals in 19 league appearances for Michael Carrick’s side.
According to the Daily Mail, a move to the Premier League could now be on the card.
Southampton in particular are desperate for a new striker after scoring 15 goals in 17 Premier League outings so far this season.
Crystal Palace and Everton also have strong interest in the striker.
Akpom’s contract with Boro will expire in the summer but the Teesiders side have an option to extend his stay by a further 12 months
