World Cup: You’ve to be humble – Cameroon legend counsels Onana after clash with Rigobert Song
Cameroon legend, Thomas Nkono has urged goalkeeper Andre Onana to be humble after his recent clash with head coach, Rigobert Song amid the ongoing 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar.
Onana was dumped from Cameroon’s 2022 World Cup squad a few weeks ago after a clash over tactics with Song.
The Inter Milan shot-stopper insisted that there was ‘no will’ from Song to resolve the situation.
And Nkono believes the 26-year-old is an important player in the Cameroon squad.
“I didn’t expect it. It is a way of showing that African football can be there. I have confidence in Samuel Etoo. We have taken a step forward. In the next competitions, I think we will give a good level. Many have played their first tournament here,” Nkono told AS.
“Onana has to be humble, he is more important than the rest. Being humble in life makes you reach the goal.
“Values are important. We don’t know what happened.
