Why Nigerians must support Atiku/Obi presidential ticket – Senator Abaribe
– Senator Enyinnaya Abaribe has given reasons for Nigerians to support the the Atiku Abubakar/ Peter Obi ticket
– He said Obi is the finest choice for PDP’s presidential candidate ahead of the 2019 election
– According to Abaribe, Obi as an embodiment of discipline and positive attributes
The Senator representing Abia south senatorial district, Enyinnaya Abaribe, has described the emergence of former governor Peter Obi as the running mate to Atiku Abubakar as the finest choice.
Abaribe said the choice of Obi to run with the former vice president as the flagbearer of the Peoples Democratic Party for the 2019 presidency had boosted the chances of the PDP winning the 2019 presidential election.
Punch reports that Abaribe in a statement released on Sunday, October 14, said Obi as an embodiment of discipline and positive attributes.
Ababribe said: “Mr Obi’s widely acknowledged good track record in infrastructural development and economic reforms as governor of Anambra State remains an eloquent testimony of what service delivery and good governance is all about.
“The ticket of the duo of former vice president Atiku Abubakar and Mr Obi represents the finest choice available and one that reflects the high-pitch push by Nigerians for total economic and political reforms.
“The present hopeless situation of fear, despondency and hunger in the land, which is occasioned by a seemingly rudderless and clueless government, requires experienced and steady hands in the saddle. Of course, the Atiku/Obi ticket presents that radical choice capable of pulling the country out of her present horrendous predicament,” the Senator added.
Meanwhile, TRACKNEWS.NG previously reported that the deputy senate president, Ike Ekweremadu, has called on leaders in the southeast zone to support the choice of Obi as the vice-presidential candidate of the PDP.
Ekweremadu’s call to the southeast leaders followed a complaint by the group that they were not properly consulted before Obi, a former governor of Anambra state, was chosen for the position.
The deputy senate president at a meeting with southeast political leaders, comprising the zone’s PDP governors, national assembly caucus, board of trustee members and other party leaders convinced the group not to reject Obi’s nomination.
