Wike Completes Abandoned N15bn VP Residence

Recounting the project’s tumultuous journey, Wike said, “This project was awarded in 2010, fourteen years ago, and was abandoned in 2015. It was not until January of this year that we had a revised budget for the project.
Now, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has come and within a year, he has made this project a reality. This is the hope.

In 2023 during project defence, Wike told the lawmakers that the construction of a new residence for the vice-president was approved in 2010 by the federal executive council (FEC) at the cost of N7 billion, but that the project was abandoned.
The minister said the current administration has opted to initiate the construction of the project, and the contractor has revised the cost to N15
