Graham Potter confirms that two Chelsea players have yet to return from the FIFA World Cup
Graham Potter, the manager of Chelsea, has confirmed that two French players, Hakim Ziyech and Mateo Kovacic, have yet to return to Stamford Bridge following their participation in the recently concluded 2022 FIFA World Cup.
Potter addressed the media ahead of Chelsea’s Premier League match against Bournemouth on Tuesday.
Ziyech represented Morocco at the World Cup in Qatar, while Kovacic represented Croatia.
Morocco and Croatia both competed in the third-place play-off, which the Atlas Lions lost 2-1.
“We’re still waiting for Hakim and Mateo. They went to the third/fourth place play-off and played the games, so they were in high demand.
“It’s critical to give them some breathing room. As a result, they will not be available for the game.
“Everyone else has returned, and we’ve had a few days of training with everyone.”
