Kwankwaso Foresees Revisiting Kano Emirate Laws Under Abba Yusuf’s Rule
Former Governor of Kano State and the leader of the Kwankwasiyya Movement, Rabiu Kwankwaso, has said that the law establishing Kano emirates will be revisited by the government of Abba Yusuf.
After the governor’s victory at the Supreme Court, insinuations were rife that he might reverse the earlier law that created the five emirates and thereafter dethrone all the emirs who had reportedly supported the APC governorship candidate, Nasiru Gawuna.

Speaking in an interview granted to radio stations in Kano, the NNPP leader said, though he had never been contacted on the issue, the government of Mr Yusuf would review the dethronement of Mr Sanusi and balkanisation of the emirate.
“Honestly, it is one of the things that nobody intimated me about so far. But I am sure the government would review the whole matter and do the needful.
“The present government would see the possibility or otherwise of allowing the five emirates, I don’t know. What I know is that the government will definitely revisit the issue,” the Senator noted.
Mr Kwankwaso stated that Mr Ganduje, his political rival, balkanized the Emirates for his personal political agenda, not in the interest of the masses.
