Amosun’s Political Godson, Akinlade Joins PDP In Ogun
Former All Progressives Congress (APC) member, Adekunle Akinlade has joined the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Ogun State.
TrackNews understands that Akinlade joined the opposition camp just a few days after parting way with the APC over alleged injustice among other issues.
The politician is a political godson to former Governor of Ogun State, Ibikunle Amosun. Akinlade was received into the PDP fold on at the party’s secretariat along Okemosan, Abeokuta to meet with party leaders, TrackNews understands.
Although Amosun is said to have pledged his allegiance to President Muhammadu Buhari and the APC presidential candidate, Bola Tinubu, in spite of the injustice meted out to his camp, most of his followers said they would go with Akinlade.
Akinlade was given a warm welcome to PDP today by the PDP State Chairman, Sikirulahi Ogundele and other leaders of the party.

TrackNews recalls that Akinlade who was the Ogun state governorship candidate of the Allied Peoples Movement (APM) in the 2019 election, returned to APC in December 2019 after his defeat in the previous election.
With Ibikunle’s backing, Akinlade contested the general election against the candidate of the APC but lost to the incumbent governor of the state, Dapo Abiodun.
