Chadian President Mahamat Itno Reshuffles Cabinet
The Chadian transition president, Mahamat Idriss Deby Itno has reshuffled his cabinet over the weekend.
The government in a statement said 13 of the 40 current ministerial and state secretarial functions have been reallocated.
This is the second reshuffle after the first on February 25, 2022, by a decree from the transitional president.
According to the statement, the positions affected were in particular those of Security, Economy, Planning, Energy, as well as Health, and Education.
The latest reshuffle has the Secretary of State for Finance and Budgets, Ndolenodji Alixe Yambaye, appointed Minister of Land Affairs and Domain.
Moussa Batraki, the Minister of Land Affairs has been transferred to the Ministry of Economy, Development Planning and International Cooperation.
Other ministers reassigned new portfolios are Agricultural Development, foreign affairs, and the civil cabinet.
The transitional military council was set up on April 20, 2021, following the death of former President Idriss Déby Itno. He dissolved the government and parliament then later announced a transitional period of 18 months.
