N2.2m Fraud: EFCC Goes After Malami Tambuwal
The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has declared Bello Malami Tambuwal wanted over an alleged N2.2 million fraud.
This was made known on Wednesday by the zonal head of the anti-graft agency, Mr Usman Kaltungo.
TrackNews Online reports that Malami Tambuwal is an aide to Governor Aminu Tambuwal of Sokoto State.
Kaltungo alleged that the governor’s aide has been using his position to dupe car dealers.
According to the EFCC boss, most of the cars he collected deceptively were Hyundai products.
“He has been going to car dealers to collect cars under a false pretense. He used to tell them that it was the Governor who wanted to buy the car for somebody.
“After collecting the car, he sells them and use the money for something else,” he said.
Kaltungo said the Special Adviser who ought to be arraigned on Thursday had jumped several administrative bails.
He noted that the sum of N1.6m had already been recovered from him, aside the N2.250 million.
Meanwhile, unknown gunmen have killed the Director Of Scientific Equipment Development Institute (SEDI-E) in Enugu State, identified as Prof. Sam Ndubuisi.
According to reports, the deceased was shot dead by yet to be identified gunmen on Wednesday evening, July 7, while on his way to a meeting.
He was said to have been murdered in broad daylight alongside his escort, a yet to be identified policeman.
According to the report, the assailants started to shoot sporadically, until his jeep swayed from the road. They ordered him to lie down on the floor, then shot him in the face countlessly.
