Police Arrest Man with Homemade Gun in Lagos

A 33-year-old man has been apprehended by the Lagos State Police Command in connection with the possession of a locally fabricated semi-automatic pistol.

The suspect, identified as Adegun Aboderin, was detained during a routine stop-and-search operation in the Abule-Ado area.

The arrest occurred at approximately 6 a.m., according to the spokesperson for the Lagos State Police Command, SP Benjamin Hundeyin. The officers, conducting a standard security check, discovered the weapon in Aboderin’s possession, leading to his immediate arrest.

This incident highlights the ongoing efforts by the Lagos police to curb the proliferation of illegal firearms within the state. The locally made pistol, which could potentially pose a significant threat to public safety, was seized as evidence.
